I’m over adulting!

I’m over adulting!

Alarm goes off and the routine begins.

First things first; before my feet hit the floor, giving thanks to God for another day, pray for strength to keep going and wisdom to make right decisions.  Let the adulting begin!

The hamster wheel of life keeps you going around and around, only to realize it’s a DeJa’Vu feeling, just wearing a different outfit for the day.  Through it all you still have your eye on the finish line even if it feels it’s moving further away. You stay focus. Or you look around to see you’re all alone on the hamster wheel.  The adulting continues.

Now the tasks seem to come quickly, with deadlines and appear to taller than the Himalaya Mountains.  Even mundane tasks may take an obsessive amount of time to handle.  If you haven’t already, the “To Do” list grows longer while your patience starts to shrink.  Have I mentioned that I’m over adulting?

Do you give of yourself before taking time for you?  Have you already planned out the entire day and get stressed if it doesn’t go as planned?  Are you the listening ear and/or crying shoulder for everyone?  Do you know how to “make a dollar out of fifteen cents”?  Do you go to bed at night and your thoughts are racing like the Indy 500?  I’m sure if there’s a yes to any of these questions, you just may be over adulting too.

The week when I said, “I’m over adulting”, this verse was shared and brought me to tears.  Truly hit home for me!

Exodus 14; 13-14. And Moses said to the people, “Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will work for you today.  For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again.  The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.”

No matter the size of the situation you’re facing, the Lord will fight for you.  When I get reminders of how much I’m loved by God who will always make a way out for me, I have to shout “Hallelujah”!  I kept looking at what was before me on the hamster wheel which took my eyes, heart and spirit off my Lord and Savior.  Also, praising Him in advance and through it all uplifts you!  So, when I feel like saying I’m over adulting, I’m thankful for the reminders that God is already in the mist of it all!

Be Kept!
