Your Purpose - Your Peace

The definition of purpose means to have a reason for something to be done, created or exists. To design or intend.

The definition of peace has several different meanings; freedom from disturbance, to have tranquility, the state or period of no war, used as a friendly greeting, as well as an order to remain silent.

You wake up before the alarm clock goes off. Not out of anticipation for the day, it may be that the mind is on auto pilot. Your day can begin at o’dark hundred or at the break of day, you’re ready to go. You have envisioned your day, which is already planned out to include all possible outcomes with any hiccups. Also, you have preplanned conversations for any and all scenarios. Your game face and persona are intact. There’s not a mountain or valley that will stop you. This description may be someone with control issues or Type A personality, who’s quite happy and satisfied. Truly someone up on their game and thrives on this kind of daily drive.

You’re not one who thrives on controlling every aspect of the day, only to allow what happens to happen. Not intentionally causing any added stress. What if you’re he person who just enjoys everything that they do? Regardless, if it seems like a rat race of life and more like a serene portrait, you’re not bothered. With every turn you see a challenge as a learning opportunity. You see hurdles or obstacles as growth. You run towards and into the darkness with a flashlight to find the weak, only to be the strength to those in need. You’re the one person who will smile in the midst of chaos that will relieve anxiety for someone else. That infectious smile and laughter spreads like wildfire.

Both types have found their purpose along with peace.

Ephesians 2:10: “For we are God’s masterpiece, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do”.

Romans 8:28: “And we know that all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose”.

Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight”.

Michah 6:8: “And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God”.

Jeremiah 1:5: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born, I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations”.

I’ve said it before, it’s not easy. Nothing we do is easy. It’s worth it once you find peace in your purpose. You will be tested, especially when God has blessed you with your heart’s content. Stay the course. Pray and praise daily without ceasing. What God has intended for you will not cause pain and dissatisfaction to the point of draining you mentally and spiritually. Our flesh and spirit war every day. I was thankful to hear from a patient that being a nurse was a ministry. It solidified what several have told me when I started in nursing. Again, it was not easy at all yet I’m so happy for my purpose because it’s my peace!

When you find your purpose, you will find your peace.
