To be seen
You see what you want to see. You see what is on the outside of a person. Many will only allow so much of themselves to be seen. The effect of an optical illusion keeps one guessing of what could be. To protect your vulnerability by any means necessary you may hide and give the illusion that everything going on with you is good. I know I did and sometimes still do.
I love a makeover. When my sister got married, my makeover was flawless! Left me speechless! Now a makeover can transform you in a blink of an eye. Well, a long blink because it takes time to look fabulous and it’s well worth the wait. Also, add on patience to ensure it’s done correctly. I fidget and my patience was put to the test. After all, has been said and done, you’re looking in the mirror with amazement and cannot wait until others see you look just as fabulous! YES!!!
Some time ago out with friends, laughing and having a good time, not worried about anything in particular, just enjoying the company, an older lady said to us all, “ladies should be seen and not heard”. Wasn’t sure where this was coming from and why we were the target of this comment, however, it left us all perplexed. So, we had a moment of some silence and kept laughing. The older I became, the more it makes sense.
No matter how much we try to hide from others or ourselves, there will always be ONE to see us. Our ‘truth’ will come forth in His presence. No amount of makeup will hide us. No illusion will keep the truth from being revealed.
In the background “He sees you” by Terrian begins and my vulnerability is now at the forefront. No matter how hard I thought I was putting on a front for everyone, God sees the real me. Every teardrop is being counted. Every ‘Hallelujah’ with my hands held high is being recorded in glory! Every ‘thank you Lord’ being yelled out is being heard by my God! No amount of makeup or illusion can keep the true self from being found.
Psalms 139; 8 “If I ascend up into heaven thou art there; if I make my bed in hell, behold thou art there.”
I love the picture of this little turtle with its head held high seems like it’s waiting to be seen. The turtle is tiny enough to blend into the background and yet big enough to stand out.
BE KEPT!
